Founded in 1884 as the Marion Steam Shovel Company, “The Shovel” manufactured steam shovels used to dig the Panama Canal and other historic projects. The “Shovel” also manufactured the crawler-transporters used by NASA to move rockets to the launch pads.
This history covers the first 100 years of the company’s history and is filled with vintage photographs pulled from Marion Steam/Power Shovel’s archives and company records.
