Programs and Activities
Thanks to the generosity of our members and the Marion community, over 34,000 items have been donated to the MCHS. These items are cataloged in a searchable database and archived for research purposes as well as for display in our rotating exhibits.
Educational Programs
for All Ages
We are pleased to offer educational programming tailored for both schools and the general public through a range of offerings. Notable among these are guided tours and structured programs at Linn School, a one-room schoolhouse established in 1897, and the Seiter Log Cabin, constructed in 1851 and located at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Each year, hundreds of students participate in tours of Heritage Hall as part of their local history curriculum, enriching their understanding of regional heritage.
Engage in Public Programming
We offer an exciting range of programs throughout the year, and we would love for you to join us! One of our favorites is the annual dinner featuring presidential reenactors, where they share fun stories about their lives while we all enjoy the delicious foods that each president loved. We also host engaging programs that celebrate the unique communities, important events, and remarkable people in Marion County.
