Looking Back: A Collection of Marion History Snippets

The United States celebrated the 250^th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026 with America250 celebrations held throughout the nation. Marion participated with a variety of events and celebrations.  Among them was the publishing of a daily snippet of Marion history on social media. These 365 snippets, which correlated with the twelve monthly themes established by the Marion celebration steering committee, were compiled into Looking Back – A Collection of Marion History Snippets. Author Randy Winland developed the snippets using information gathered from thousands of newspaper articles, interviews, and other sources, and enhanced with vintage photographs.
