A Conspicuous Life: George B. Christian and the Rise of Industrial Marion

A Conspicuous Life” by historian Joel Miyasaki tells the story of George B. Christian Senior (1846-1930). It traces the rise of the city of Marion, Ohio, formerly one of the state’s great industrial centers. As a boy, Christian volunteered in the Union Army during the Civil War. He later served as editor of the Marion Democratic Mirror and encouraged Warren G. Harding in his successful bid to become President of the United States.
